5 Signs You Have a Strong Brand

The American Marketing Association defines a brand as “A name, term, design, symbol, or any other feature that identifies one seller’s good or service as distinct from those of other sellers.” In other words, a brand is what identifies your product from all the others on the market. If we were to go to the store and I asked you to pick out some brands, you might choose something like Coke, Hershey, Skippy, or Smuckers, which would be fine, but if we sat down to discuss why you chose those ones, you might say it’s because they are some of the most recognizable, and you would be right.

Those four brands are so popular and recognizable because they have built strong reputations and when you see their products, you know you are getting exactly what you want. Their brands have built promises and have worked hard to develop emotional connections between them and their consumers.

Every company out there, no matter the industry, wants to be successful and in order to do so, they need to have a strong brand. Here are five things to look for when developing your brand.

#1 Clear

Your mission and message are clear. If your dream client were to come along, they would have a clear understanding of what you do.

#2 Passionate

Your mission, vision, and values are front and center. Your client knows exactly who and what they would be partnering with.

#3 Distinct

The differences between you and your competitors are clear and it’s obvious what makes your offerings different and exciting.

#4 Relevant

Your messaging and communications speak directly to your client’s current situation and provides obtainable results.

#5 Credible

Any client that partners with you knows and trusts that you will deliver what you promise.

At the end of the day, your brand is your company’s lifeline. It will help you either fail and succeed. Having a blog, regardless of the industry, helps to convey your expertise, what makes you different, and helps to cement your place in the market. Blogging is such a powerful tool when it comes to showcasing your commitment and belief in your product and company.
